Esta <strong>bebida espesa y llena de frutas<\/strong> obtiene su color p\u00farpura de una mezcla de frutas y harina de ma\u00edz p\u00farpura. Tiene un <strong>sabor \u00fanico<\/strong> por las diferentes especias a\u00f1adidas.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">La preparaci\u00f3n exacta var\u00eda seg\u00fan la familia \ud83d\udc6a y la regi\u00f3n \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\udde8. Guagua es la palabra quichua para beb\u00e9 o ni\u00f1o o ni\u00f1a peque\u00f1o \ud83d\udc76. Los ind\u00edgenas de Ecuador tradicionalmente los dejaban en el lugar del entierro cuando alguien mor\u00eda para marcar la tumba y dar de comer al difunto.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>principios del siglo XIX<\/strong> los cat\u00f3licos adoptaron esta costumbre, pero <strong>las Guaguas no eran comestibles.<\/strong> Fueron hechas espec\u00edficamente para decorar las tumbas.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy en d\u00eda, <strong>todas las panader\u00edas del pa\u00eds venden Guaguas de pan<\/strong> en los d\u00edas previos al D\u00eda de los Difuntos. Suelen tener la <strong>forma de un beb\u00e9 envuelto en pa\u00f1ales<\/strong> y est\u00e1n decoradas con glaseado de colores.
