Galapagos Sparrowhawk

• These hawks are the only predators of marine iguanas, they also feed on other birds, small mammals, and lizards.
• On the Marchena and Pinta islands, a single female is related to multiple males.
• All males feed their babies.

Albatross

• These birds nest on the Spanish island, which is the oldest in the Galapagos.
• It is a monogamous species.
• Before mating, they pre-dance, face each other making high-pitched sounds, shake their heads, and raise their beaks.
• They are the largest birds in the archipelago.
• They have a white neck, a yellow beak, pronounced black eyebrows, and dark brown wings.
• They breed between January and March
• The male and female hatch a single egg for 60 days.

Galapagos penguin

• It is an endemic bird that lives on the Fernandina and Isabela islands.
• The only penguin in the world that can live in a tropical area.
• It is the smallest penguin species in the world.
• They lay 2 eggs that are incubated by their parents for 40 days.
• Birds swim up to 50 kilometers per day
