On March 6, at the end of the Inaugural Gala at the ITB in Berlin, the International Foundation “Green Destination” awarded the Galapagos the “Best Sustainable Destination of the Americas“. Placing it first over places like Thompson Okanagan (Canada) and Puerto Natales (Chile).

Galapagos receive this award due to the efforts made by the government and the tourism industry; Ensuring the sustainability of the islands.

Since 1978, the year when UNESCO declared the Galapagos Islands a World Heritage Site, the government constantly takes care of the islands; Galapagos annually receives more than 200,000 travelers from all over the world; With North America and Europe among the main places where travelers come from. The citizens and government work together to maintain the Galapagos ecosystem and its beauty through responsible tourism.

The Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are a group of islands considered a living laboratory due to the great variety of wildlife; Sea lions, giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies, albatrosses, are just part of the species that you can see in this place at only 2 meters away.

The product of the constant volcanic activity produced in the Galapagos made that life is born recurrently. The islands are inhabited only 3% by humans, and the number of tourists that arrive is limited. The amazing flora and landscapes made of volcanic lava maintain well preserved. There are many wonders to discover Galapagos, but incredible species and hidden places are only possible through a cruise experience.

Cruise to Galapagos and its cruises: Galaxy Yacht First Class Cruise, EcoGalaxy Catamaran First Class Cruise, and Alya Catamaran Luxury Class Cruise contributed to this recognition due to our commitment to the environment and responsible tourism. Our cruises are equipped with a high technological process for water desalination, energy production, and the reduction of CO2 emissions; for example, our EcoGalaxy reduces a total amount of  39,907 pounds of CO2 emissions annually.
