When the survival of specie was in danger, as a superhero cartoon, Diego arrived, who is a male turtle of the specie Chelonoidis-hoodensis, a type of endemic turtle of Española Island, he had 800 children and succeed saves his species of the extinction.

Diego - Turtle Galapagos Islands

The story of this epic knight begins in the 1960s when the Galapagos National Park noticed that the endemic turtles of Española Island were not breeding in their natural environment, at that time there were only 15 turtles of this specie, including Diego, in every one of which 12 were females and 2 males. This specie was on the verge of extinction a century ago, due to the indiscriminate hunting and introduced species such as rats.

It is for this reason that the Galapagos National Park decided to start a captive breeding program where they would create the perfect environment for the passion between the turtles, the problem was that apparently, the 2 male turtles did not have the necessary strength or impetus to procreate. Although we must admit that, if they contributed anything to the cause, is that here our protagonist appears for rescue.

With only 30 years of age, a teenager, if we consider how long the turtles live, Diego returned to his native country after having lived in San Diego´s Zoo, California, to be part of the breeding program and meet his harem.

As soon as this “Playboy Turtle” arrived, he showed that he was a true stallion; in a short time, he became the dominant male, with charisma and balance, conquering the females of the program with an exaggerated sexual desire.

During his years of hard and sacrificing work to preserve his species, he became a true sex symbol and became the patriarch of approximately 800 offspring, a completely new generation of turtles.

There are currently about 2000 turtles of the Dieguito species, which means that he is the father of approximately 40% of new family members.

After years of sex without control or protection, nowadays and with more than 100 years, this long sexual symbol of the Galapagos Islands retires and will spend his days at home, which is Española Island, where he will enjoy a deserved rest.

It only remains to say thank you, “Dieguito”, for you and for your exaggerated sex without control, an entire species has been saved from extinction.
